Topic: Multiface mkII PCI vs HDSP 9632 on Linux (performance)

Hi,

would there be any differences in achievable latencies between these two cards running on linux? I am not on linux yet, neither do i understand it much but, i guess it would be using either alsa or jack audio.
These two interfaces use pretty much the same PCI card, however I am curious about the "firewire" connection of Multiface II. I have tested one on windows with asio, its rock solid even at 64samples, but I am curious about the very bottom end of latencies on linux.

basically either:

hdsp 9652 and adi-8 ds
or multiface mkII with PCI ...much cheaper

This is not FireWire but an internal/external communication bus specific to RME. It does not change the overall performance, which is 100% PCI.

Hi,

and thanks for such promt reply! I know its not firewire protocol:0) My question stays: Is there any difference in latency performance on Linux systems?

Re: Multiface mkII PCI vs HDSP 9632 on Linux (performance)

unless 100perc. PCI answers my question. sorry, i aint much technical
