Topic: HDSPe MADI clock malfunction

Hey all,
I just installed a HDSPe Madi card (Rev. 1.1) into a Intel MacPro.
As usual I upgraded to latest firmware and driver right away.
I am operating the RME-Madi as sync-master.
Connected to the Madi-cable I have a J?nger-Audio Madi-card, which
itself is technically working as it should, but is not able to sync
itself to the Madi signal correctly. Trying to use the Wordclock output
it shows the same behavior.
Therefore I measured the clock of wordclock output at different sample rates.
For 44.1 and 48 kHz it was about 150 Hz different and for 96 kHz about 300 Hz.

So, my question: is there a known malfunction of the oscillator on this HDSPe
Madi boards.

Best regards,
J?rg.

Re: HDSPe MADI clock malfunction

No such error over here. You could check if the oscillator on the board is exactly 25 MHz or has the same deviation. Or just exchange the card.

Re: HDSPe MADI clock malfunction

Hi Matthias,
yes, I could have done a little more testing, but I decided to send it to IMM,
since the "old" PCI-Madi doesn't show this behavior.
Hopefully they can get it fixed and get it back to me by next week.
I will post it here, if they find a comprehensible error.

Danke und viele Gr?sse,
J?rg Wille
