Topic: feature request: durec for PCIe cards ?

Hi,

what you think about implementing Durec on the PCIe cards ?
USB2 or 3 chip additionally on the platine with connector.
Then connect, USB Disk, Stick, or maybe SD Card to it and also have the safety of Durec ..

Would be the next logical step for me, too good this feature to have it only for the UFX ..

i think this feature is really possible to had on future update , hope Rme listen to us!!

Re: feature request: durec for PCIe cards ?

Re: feature request: durec for PCIe cards ?

Hmm, thanks for your feedback, just thinking again over it ...

It would be different to Durec used on an external device like the UFX.

The question is whether it would still record, when the PC is in an insane state.
Maybe global record is the best alternative, as much better reliability you only get by an external / standalone-able device.

Sorry if my idea was maybe not so good, was in "thinking loud" mode wink

Re: feature request: durec for PCIe cards ?

Times change, tastes become maybe different ...

I would like to ask, whether there is demand for Durec on PCIe based RME cards ?

Or whether RME thinks, that might be a brilliant idea for future enhancements ?!

Re: feature request: durec for PCIe cards ?

IMO the next Babyface series refresh should include SD card multitrack recording!

For a PCIe card, maybe it does not make so much sense.

There's still Digicheck's Global Record - I really don't think a physical USB port on a PCIe card would make much sense, space restrictions aside...
