EDIT2: sorry, it solves the Remote Control issue, but I can't change routing anymore, or muting of outputs.

Please help. I don't get MIDI over MADI to work between UFX+ and XTC.
I am getting input from all Mic inputs 1..8, but things like gain, pad, etc wont be synchronized between XTC and TotalMixFX.

UFX+ driver: 0.9574, HW Rev 39, SW Vers 34
XTC: Firmware 25/47

Clock: UFX: internal
          XTC: MADI
          Driver settings dialog shows synched to 44.1 kHz, 64 channels
MADI setup:
         UFX+: MADI Format: 64, MADI Frame: 96k Frame, MADI Output: Optical
         XTC:   Delay Comp. Auto-CA, CompensID: 1, Madi Format: 64, Madi Frame 96k
XTC General Settings:
         MIDI Device ID: 0 (same as in TM), MIDI Cont. Thru: ON
XTC Digital Routing:
          ADAT OUT: Mic 1-8
          ADAT2 OUT: Mic 1-8
          AES OUT: M 1-8
          MADI 1-8: Mic 1-8
XTC MIDI Sources:
        Control (Inp.): MADI In
        USB Midi 1: OFF
        USB Midi 2: OFF
        MIDI DIN out: OFF
Midi over MADI: Control (????? unsure)

TotalMixFX: v1.31
Options: Enable MIDI control -> enabled   (also required for MIDI over MADI ?)

MIDI I/O set to NONE won't work (obviously).

Hi, many thanks.

I changed now
Device Settings:
           Digital Channels: MADI 1-8
Device:
           Octamic XTC
MIDI Settings:
           MIDI   In: UFX+ Midi Port 3
           MIDI Out: UFX+ Midi Port 3     
           Device ID: 0

Now from TM I can remote control i.e. PAD on/off for Mic1 or others.

Whats still not working is:
- that gain control and TM fader are working in sync
- Phantom Power on/off from TM
- Autoset on/off from TM

LED state changed:
XTC:  Ctrl I   orange
         Ctrl O  orange
XTC: Menue Options -> MIDI Sources: the status indicators on the bottom: Contr and MADI are now lit (yellow)

I changed now also the settings
Settings -> MIDI
Index: 3 (x) in use
         MIDI   In: UFX Midi Port 3
         MIDI Out: UFX Midi Port 3

Now I can adjust the Gain on XTC and the Gain settings on TM change as well.

1. Little Problem here: other direction works not reliable. When I change Gain of MA1 (XTC Mic 1), then not always the gain is adjusted in the display of "Mic Gain 1/2" Display.

Whats still not working is:
2. Phantom Power on/off from TM
3. Autoset on/off from TM

4. Problems with MIDI remote via "UFX+ MIDI Port 3":
When using MIDI Remote application for XTC, then the settings are instantly changing.
By disabling "fast level polling" it seems to go away but not entirely. After a while you hear relais clicking.
Phantom Power enables of all sudden on ports although nothing has been done.

So at the moment it looks as if remote control using Midi via Madi has problems via Tm and the Midi remote application.

MIDI Remote and TM FX Remote can not be used at the same time.

As I like the application MIDI Remote, would it be possible when using a combination of
physical MIDI port (1) 9and MIDI over MADI (3), so to say:
- MIDI Remote via UFX+ MIDI Port 1 and
- TM FX via UFX+ MIDI Port 3 ?

EDIT: I removed now MIDI cabling and concentrate again on "TM FX Remote" and Midi via MADI.

So I configured
a) in TM: XTC as AUX device for MADI 1-8 using UFX Midi 3.
     Digital Channel: MADI 1-8, Device Octamic XTC.
     Midi Settings: MIDI IN and OUT: UFX+ Midi Port 3
b) on XTC:
    MIDI Sources:
    Control Inp: MADI IN
    USB MIDI1: OFF
    USB MIDI2: OFF
    MIDI DIN OUT: OFF
    Midi ov MADI: Control
    "LED" Segments: "Contr" and "MADI" have state "yellow"
Status LEDs on XTC: Ctrl I and O: orange

What works:
- Set PAD
- Adjust Gain for Mic1 (MaDI1) when changing gain from XTC itself. I can see at the same time gain change in TM

What does not work:
- Enable Phantom Power
- when changing the gain of Madi1 (XTC Mic1) from TM, then its not reliably udpated in the display of the XTC
EDIT: "Most of the time" (90%) the new settings do not arrive, sometimes it changes only if you dial in bigger changes.

Whats wrong ?

Very interesting observation.

Setting the Gain and i.e. Phantom Power on the XTC works if I push "PAD" butting in TM.
Then immediately Phantom power and gain level as chosen in TM will be set on the XTC.

This is reproducable .. as soon as I toggle PAD, the chosen phantom power and gain level will be updated reliably.
Otherwise not.

Bug ?

Other issue.
Loaded my new default workspace with XTC remote control enabled (aux device).
Recorded 3 mics from XTC using DuRec.
I am not sure whether it was already during recording or while playing back with Durec.
Heard suddenly a relay clicking.
Looked to XTC, MIDI LEDs CTRL I and O - which were before lit - turned off.
I had to reload the workspace again via Workspace Quick select to re-enable remote control.
I had this yesterday at another occasion where remote control deactivated suddenly.
I do not know yet exactly, what the trigger for this is.

Maybe related to a / the basic problem, maybe everything settles once fixed.

Most probably, we found the reason behind the other issue already. It is limited to the UFX+ and will be fixed shortly.

Cool many thanks, you guys are really great, the fix came very quick and works very well.

EDIT: I checked all now from TM FX 1.33 -> XTC
In mono and stereo channels everything works (PAD/Inst, Phantom Power, AutoSet).

Hi,

don't know why this didn't ocurr upfront.

Today I discovered, that with TM FX 1.33 I can't mute output channels anymore.
or when changing output to Headphones and Muting Main out, the sound comes still through main out.

I loaded the same workspace with TM FX 1.31, there I do not have this issue.
As soon as I exit TM FX 1.31, start TM FX 1.33, then these issues occurr.
