Topic: Fire Face 802 Audio Drop outs 96KHz, Ableton Live

Hello and greetings,
I been searching all around, contact RME support who usually barely returns emails, and with out anything to help.

Anyways I am not hear to rant but hopefully find a solution.

The problem is not exclusive to Ableton but this is now my main DAW.
OSX 10.11.6
Mackbookpro 15 2.5HZ i7 16GB RAM 512 SSD.
Recording on to two Samsung SSD drives over USB.

When recording at 96KHz with a buffer of 256 I am getting random audio drop outs or glitches. CPU usage is at most 40% and it can happen even lower. The same problem does not seem to happen as often at 48KHz.
Tried different ports for USB,
No Hub,
No Plugins, etc, etc. So far no solution.  On the same computer with a Behringer UMC card this does not happen so I am more than a little annoyed considering the price difference.

Please anyone with suggestions step in.

This can be a problem of OS X aggressive CPU power-saving profiles. Try putting some artificial load on your CPUs to keep the CPU from throttling down.

Download this and start with something like 10% on all cores.

Seems to have helped a large amount so I will keep an eye on this.
Will play around to see if I can also lower the latency.

Thanks!
