Topic: Hammerfall 9632 no sound Linux Mint 18 Rosa - SPDIF out

Dear Users!

i was searching and trying a couple of days now i give up, can't get my soundcard to work maybe it's only a routing problem as my output will be SPDIF (optical) to the Denon Receiver.

Here is what i tried and my configs:

I did step by step the instructions on http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index. … odule-hdsp
everything could be done except

modprobe snd-seq-oss

i got an failure

modprobe: FATAL: Module snd-seq-oss not found in directory /lib/modules/4.4.0-47-generic

Don't know if this module is necessary?

Now my configs:

cat /etc/asound.conf
pcm.hdsp {
          type hw
          card 1
       }

       ctl.hdsp {
          type hw
          card 1
       }

pcm.hdsp_spdif {
    type plug
    ttable.0.16 1
    ttable.1.17 1
    slave.pcm hdsp
}
