Topic: Babyface Pro - and iPad powering

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere.  I have looked and could not find anything.

Q) Is there a way that I can power the Babyface Pro through the USB port when connected to an iPad?

I prefer not to use the DC adapter (9V to 12V), and I know that in the past I have had a USB hard drive that had a split USB cable where one end went into the PC, the other end into the hard drive, and the third USB plug went into a power provided USB socket.

Can something similar to this work with the Babyface Pro and iPad combination?  Note that I am not interested in providing power to the iPad, only to the Babyface Pro.

I look forward to your replies... and thanks in advance.

Sure, with such a cable it would work.

Wonderful.  And thank you for your prompt reply!

So that I don't make a mistake in which cable to get, would you mind just pointing me to a link of a cable that will work? Even on Amazon, eBay, or anywhere else?  Just so that I get the right thing.

I found this one... do you think it will work with a double USB female adapter?

Re: Babyface Pro - and iPad powering

Hello everyone,

Will the Apple USB 3 Camera connection connector work? Does anyone know and have tried it?

The Apple web page states that the Apple USB 3 Camera connection kit will power both the iPad and also the USB device connected to it. Can someone here please confirm that it will work please?

Apple's new adapter will charge the iPad but not deliver enough power for the BF Pro.

Thanks MC for your quick reply.

As I will need to use the Apple Camera connection adapter, can you suggest how to connect the Babyface Pro to an iPad without using a mains plug pack power supply for the Babyface Pro? All USB power would be ideal for me.

I would recommend this phantastic Powerbank with 12 V output:

I got two of these already.

Re: Babyface Pro - and iPad powering

Hi MC, I plan to use a USB step up (boost) 12v converter connected to a power bank to power the Babyface Pro, but I cannot find anywhere the size of the plug required for the Babyface Pro. Do you know what size plug I need?
