Topic: Micstasy outputs vs passive mic splitter

I am researching options for a backup recording rig and wondered whether sending the Micstasy analogue outs to a UFX w/DURec (or similar) at the same time as recording the digital outputs (either ADAT or MADI) is immune from ground loops?

Or would I be better off using a passive mic splitter to send the mic outputs to the Micstasy and UFX (with the Micstasy providing 48v)?

The same question goes for the Octamic II, thanks.

Use balanced cables (XLR female to TRS) and there will be no ground loops.

The OctaMic II doesn't have line outputs.

Thanks MC. I thought the Octamic had TRS line outs?

You're right. For whatever reason I was thinking about DA conversion...
