Topic: FIREFACE UC dead output

Hi,

The outputs 1/2 of my fireface UC are dead.
sure a guy sent some 48v there. He was the soundengineer on a show for a festival... and the cook of that same festival.

anyway. Is there something very obvious that needs to be changed in such cases that i could do myself ? i did some serious DIY projects soldering although i'm not able to debug a problem. But if someone tells me what to replace i could do it.
i'm also concidering starting SMT soldering for my modular system so.. why not give it a try.

thx for any advice smile

There are two caps at each output, 220 µF / 25 V, which most probably are defective. Should be no big deal to replace those.

Re: FIREFACE UC dead output

Hi !

So i opened the soundcard and 8 of the output caps ( from out 1 to out 4) are.. puffy only the last four (out 5&6) are ok.

It makes sense as my last test i really had different levels on 4 first out and 5 &6 were ok and loud (7&8 front panel are ok)

So i'm going to change those 8 caps.
