Topic: AIO Vs. RayDAT for MIDI tightness

I'm a composer about to go for a HDSPe card for my new rig.

Overall, I prefer the versatility of the AIO, but I would also really like 2 MIDI I/O's to give me more routing options. I plan to send my main DAW output to a monitor controller using S/PDIF.

First question would be: is there any way to connect more than 1 MIDI I/O to the AIO?

Second question: I noticed that the 2 MIDI I/O's on the RayDAT are on the second card which connects to the main pci-e card. Does this affect the MIDI latency at all compared to the MIDI I/O on the AIO?

Thanks!

Re: AIO Vs. RayDAT for MIDI tightness

No, just as midi latency does not depend on the length of the midi cable.

Thanks, Vincent.

Also considering cascading 2 AIO's..

Re: AIO Vs. RayDAT for MIDI tightness

Midi wise 2 aios will be in parallel. For audio they will need to be synced. But they will be parallel too, so same latency not one behind the other.
