Topic: FF400 input noise

I'm not sure why I haven't noticed this before, unless I just assumed it was room noise, but I'm getting some low-level noise from analog inputs 1&2. It doesn't seem to matter if I have a cable/mic plugged in or not. Strangely enough, there is no noise on input 3, where I have a guitar cable plugged into it. Is this just noise from the preamp, which is set at 51 right now?

Re: FF400 input noise

An update on this: when there's nothing plugged in, I'm seeing the "Sig" indicator on input 1&2 on the front of the FF400 sort of lightly, randomly flashing. Uh oh, is this the end of the line for my beloved FF400?

Re: FF400 input noise

More the start of learning standard electronics laws. Unused = open inputs are always noisy, unless they are short circuited automatically when no plug is inserted. But this is not possible with the XLR jack.
