Topic: RME Raydat Crashes Win 10 and Cubase

I have a custom built Windows 10 machine. My RME Raydat card crashes Cubase and Win 10. I am able to open Cubase and play a portion of a project and then it crashes. On the same system i am able to use a Steinberg ur22 card without any issues. I also have a seperate drive setup on the computer and windows 7. The RME performs there rock solid. However it will not work properly with Win 10 professional. Please help.

Gigabyte mother board

Re: RME Raydat Crashes Win 10 and Cubase

Win10 is a moving target, too many changes, because Windows Updates cannot be parametrized like with Win7.
Windows as a service with instant changes is not a good model to create a rock solid foundation for audio.
You would do yourself a favour if you can stay with Win7.

But it could also be the case that your Gigabyte mainboard is causing issues.
You should maybe try different PCIe sockets.
Which Gigabyte Mainboard btw, didnt know they have only one...

Have you tested other software, e.g. Reaper?

Re: RME Raydat Crashes Win 10 and Cubase

Thank you for your responses, no I have not tested other software.  I will more than likely go back to Win 7 since I have not been having any issues with it for years using Raydat.  I will try switching PCI slots prior to going back.
