Topic: RME Hammerfall 9632 directly on speakers

Dear users!

as i didn't find any Information by Google or the manual

is there a possiblity to connect Speakers directly to the RME Hammerfall 9632 or did i have to use some extension/active Speakers?

Thx

Hallo zusammen!

Re: RME Hammerfall 9632 directly on speakers

The Hammerfall DSP (HDSP) 9632 PCI card should not be used to drive the low impedance load presented by a passive loudspeaker. You need suitable power amplifiers to drive passive loudspeakers. Active loudspeakers include those power amplifiers.

Never say never. I recalled seeing a Tripath product that included their amplifier chipsets on a PCI card.  Google found it.

edit:  On closer inspection it does not plug into the PCI bus, rather just sits next to the PCI cards in the case.
