Topic: Fireface UFX - loud distorted sound and no audio after that
I woke up in the middle of the night thinking aliens were attacking my apartment.
All of a sudden, there was a loud distorted sound coming through my speakers. There was no audio playing, it just happened on its own.
I ran in and turned everything off. Now when I turn it on, I can see Fireface is talking to my PC without issue. I can see the channels on the Fireface screen showing that it has audio.
Unfortunately, I can't hear any audio on my speakers or on my headphones in either headphone jack.
Does this sound like something has gone kaput? Any troubleshooting I should do? I turned the knob up and made sure the main out was turned up and the headphone out was turned up. Everything is turned up on TotalMix FX. I updated the driver just to see if it would change anything and also reset the TotalMix FX but seems like nothing is helping.
EDIT: Sounds like a fairly common issue that may require sending back to the factory for repair. Guess I'll try and track down that info.
