Topic: How to set samplerate on mic inputs, UFX?

Hi!
I try to use two mic inputs on the UFX for vinyl playback. I want to sample the signal at 96kHz/24 bits, but in the Windows Recording Devices properties for the RME mic inputs I only find 44.1 and 48kHz? In the UFX ASIO USB control panel the 96kHz setting jumps back to 48kHz as soon as I press OK. I`m using Jriver WDM driver for playback.
Here there are options for 96kHz samplerate, but only 16 bits. The reason for using the Jriver WDM driver is that I want all audio to play through the Jriver convolution engine, for XO, RIAA, time and frequency correction.

I guess the RME ASIO driver is also being used (and no Windows resampling is taking place)?

Jriver has a "ASIO line in" function that I use to get the signal in to Jriver from the UFX mic inputs. It works, but no option for setting samplerate.

Would it be better to use the RME UFX loopback function instead of Jriver ASIO Line in?

It is rather confusing as to how all this should be set up..

Re: How to set samplerate on mic inputs, UFX?

If a software uses ASIO, it should have an option to set the sample rate - unless it doesn't, in which case the sample rate may be fixed. Please contact the software manufacturer to find out...
Also test 96k recording with e.g. Reaper.

Thanks!
It seems to me that changing the sample rate in the Windows sound properties also changes the samplerate that is reported in the top bar in the TotalMixFx window?

Get a real recording program supporting ASIO, i.e. Reaper.
You could also use Global Record (from DIGICheck) if you are under Windows.

Yes, I`m under Windows. I`ll install and try Digicheck.

Re: How to set samplerate on mic inputs, UFX?

I had overlooked the option to set samplerate in the ASIO Line in in the Jriver S/W. I could select 96kHz samplerate, but I got an errormessage that I think meant that there was a mismatch between input and output samplerate. After opening the Playback Devices dialog in Windows, and returning to Jriver it suddenly worked, and 96kHz was reported both in the RME TotalMixFx and Jriver! Not sure what the fix was.. It least it works, and I can use the RME UFX both for input and output.
