Topic: ucx firewire backwards compatibility

Hi hows it going,

I was wondering if somebody could please tell me if the ucx can be bus powered via a ff400 -->> to ff800 firewire cable

allah - -> https://www.emax.co.nz/index.php?main_p … ts_id=6157

I'm using a mid 2012 mbp 13" with a firewire 800 port.
Would the mbp have enough bus power to run the ucx to its full capacity without issue?

thanks,

dodec's

Re: ucx firewire backwards compatibility

According to the UCX FAQ
https://www.rme-audio.de/en/products/fi … cx_faq.php
Firewire should deliver enough power to drive the UCX.

Yes. That's what I and most other Mac users, use. Macs with FW400 ports are very old these days.
