Topic: For blue screen under Windows7 64 with fireface400 and chipset jmicron

Hello

by exemple :
On my laptop (Laptop Toshiba X300 Qosmio), i had a issue with fireface400 under win7 64, 4Go, drivers 3.02, firmware 1.70, no windows update by internet (offline)

Fireface adapters JMicron JMB380 PCI-E 1394a OHCI FireWire Controller and Memory Card Host Controller

Issue : Blue screen under win7 (and win7 is slow when i open control panel) or depitched music when played (under asio)

If you have a JMicron chipest, you go to the chipset' manufacturer' site:
ftp://driver.jmicron.com.tw/1394/Windows/
and update your driver by download and install the lastest driver for firewire

And all is OK
(In RME Panel, you can choose option "Analog" and not "all channels" to have more bandpass, and no crack under 96Khz)

PS
for other chipset, download sandra (or an other) software to list your firewire1394 chipset and after go to manufacturer' site and download latest drivers..

Re: For blue screen under Windows7 64 with fireface400 and chipset jmicron

Thanks Arnaud,

i have tried it yesterday and it works much better now than it used to work with the FW1394 legacy driver from microsoft (the one avoiding W7 blue screen up to now). Sounds that performances are correct now, eventhough they are not fantastic yet wink.

Thanks for the ftp driver location !
