Topic: Difference between Global Level meter and 4-Bar meter in DC 5.75

I am looking at the output of three mics -- gain is set to 34 dB on totalmix.  The mics are just responding to noise in the room.  I get readings of -55dB in totalmix and with the 4-Bar meters or the Vectorscope meters.  But the Global Multichanne Level meters are reading 20 dB higher.  No K system settings are selected.

Can someone explain this discrepancy, please?

Thanks,

David

Check your settings, they ARE different. Maybe peak instead of RMS.

Many thanks, Matthias. The settings were different: the reference points were set 20 dB apart.  Very odd, since I had never made such an adjustment, as I rarely use the multichannel window.
