Topic: ARC USB: please make "MUTE" work across grouped channels, as DIM does

Hi -

New ARC USB customer here, VERY happy.  Using it with UFX.

I mainly monitor in 5.1, and so I have analog output 1-6 in a fader group. 1-2 are "main" speakers, since we can only Assign stereo pairs as "mains".  This is fine, as the gain controls track any volume moves. 

- Wonderfully for me, the "DIM (Main Out)" control honors the grouping.  (Maybe under the hood, it's just doing a "-20dB volume shift")

- However "MUTE (Main Out)" control only mutes the Assigned/declared master speakers.

- Also:  Talkback activation does NOT dim the other channels, only the ones assigned as "Main Out"


Thanks for considering it! It's a lightweight way of supporting multichannel control room setups without having to build the entire set of surround sound monitoring controls.

You overlooked the 'Talkback' option in the tools/settings panel of the additional channels.

Once we added Surround mode to the CRM section there will be a working mute for all 5.1 channels.

Yes of course - Talkback as well, which operates on "Main" but not on linked channels.

Is surround mode in the works? If so, this is very good news for me!

And once again: it works on linked channels if you activate 'Talkback' in the tool/settings panel of those linked channels.

Ah yes! Thank you - I did not realize the function of the "+Talkback" button, yes that does work. 
Now if it worked with mutes wink

For the time being, I keep my analog SPL monitor controller in the chain for all these functions, but I love where RME is going with this.

Yes! Working!
And mute groups can be assigned a trigger button on ARC USB.

Does Talkback dim the Main output in TotalMix as well as the Phones out?
