Topic: possible to use Adats as sub mix into software?

I want to have the 8 channels of ADAT sent into max-msp, processed then sent back into the other 8 channels.  Is this possible?  The reason for this is I have a mix setting for running it that way, but if things go wrong in max, etc. I need to be able to trigger and different mixer setting with the regular I/Os to play "straight" while the computer reboots.  THis has to happen very quickly, hence the two different setups.  There are other reasons as well, so although alternative solutions are welcome, I'd like to do it the way I described.

Your on what OS? And what does 'sent back INTO the other 8 channels' exactly mean? Did you notice the Loopback feature?

I am on latest mac OS.  Thank you for the loopback feature suggestion.  It solved my needs.  I'm loving this unit!
