Topic: Looking to expand analog i/o connectivity to FF802

Hello,

I recently got a FF802 and I'm very happy with it so far!

However, I'm already exceeding the number of available jack inputs. Can anyone recommend a a good unit for adding additional analog jack inputs to it? I'm running a fully electronic studio so no micpres are needed in my case.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

RME ADI-8?

If the qs is too expensive and you do not require the features and quality (MADI, AES, ..)
then you could also consider this one:

As I personally wanted to have a reserve of mic preamps I took the XTC which can also be used for AD conversion.

As far as I understand you could also connect 8 analog lines symmetrically via TRS-XLR cable (*)
The 8 TRS inputs 4 are servosymmetric and 4 to be used for instrument in.
And you would have MADI still as an option.
Can be remote controller via MIDI.
4 AES IN/OUT and ADAT for format conversion.
The only device which can be integrated as AUX device into TM FX and fully save the settings in one TM FX instance.
So a combination of i.e. UFX+ and XTC is quite powerful and flexible to be used.
And scales up to 8 Octamics via MADI.
Latency compensation automatically by the devices.

(*) I use the XLR Inputs currently only for Mics, always forget whether these analog INs
can also be used as analog INs, not only for Mics with i.e. TRS->XLR cable.

Thanks for the suggestions! I looked at the ADI 8 but I was hoping for more than just 8 addtl inputs. Ideally I'd like to get 16 if possible. Alternately a good mixer might be the way to go.
