Topic: HDSPe AIO and Electric Guitar without Preamp

Hi, I would like to know if is possible to connect an electric guitar/bass to the HDSPe AIO directly without using a preamp for using the audio card as input for low latency with AmpliTube or any other Guitar VST

I'm asking this because the ESI Maya 44e has the option to use the input as Line or as Guitar and even has the option to use +48V phantom power on inputs 1/2

Re: HDSPe AIO and Electric Guitar without Preamp

it is possible, but the signal will be very low in volume as the AIO does not have any built in preamps or phantom power.
i've done this a few times when i was waiting or new gear and while it was not the perfect solution it was OK for trying out
a few things.

It is possible by selecting Ref Level + 4 dBu and using any floor FX as impedance buffer.

Re: HDSPe AIO and Electric Guitar without Preamp

But using any FX is pretty much like having a keyboard connected to the HDSPe AIO, so in other words the only way to plug an electric guitar with the HDSPe is using any sort of preamp because the HDSPe AIO by itself cannot do any preampling on the signal?
