Topic: Babyface very low signal from keyboard stereo outs?

I just bought a new yamaha reface cp keyboard.

I made a couple of cables, mono jack to male XLR. I went from the stereo outs on the keyboard to the xlr inputs on the babyface.

I get signal, but even with the babyface gain turned up to 60db the signal is still relatively low. Surely thats no right?

When I go from either the left or right output to the Inst input on the side of the Babyface the signal is fine.

Any ideas?

You activated Inst - deactivate it. If that is not enough then you soldered a wrong cable connection. Gnd to 1 and 3, signal to 2.

God I made a silly mistake and wired it wrong! Thanks for the help, I just used a diagram which looked like it was showing the back of the xlr, but it was the front!

All good now
