My Babyface has been more than capable at recording my live instruments, but I need help routing my midi synths through my pedals/outboard effects.

Since I’m using the breakout 1/8” headphones jack to monitor, does that mean I can’t use my 1/4” headphones output as a stereo send? They both seem to be PH3/4. I can make it work if I record my midi part first, and then solo it, so it removes the rest of the track from ph3/4. Then I can send the bus to an Outboard effect via the 1/4” headphones and bring the signal from my outboard effect w 2 XLRs into AN1/2 stereo.

I want to hear the effect in real-time. Is there a way to send my Audio Units/midi synths as .wavs to my outboard gear and back in? Being able to record while using my Strymons would be clutch. Maybe I need to monitor via the AN1/2 xlr outs so my PH3/4 doesn’t mix in the whole track when I use my 1/4” as a send.

I have an ADAT coming, the Presonus Digimax FS. Maybe this will be easier the.
Ps I am using a Babyface, not a Babyface pro.
