Topic: Fireface 800 MacBook Pro problem

Hi guys,

I've searched the forum high and low, and alas can't find a solution for my problem - apologies if it's a repeated thread. Anyway ... my plight:

MacBook Pro mid 2014 [16GB RAM, 512 HD], connected to FF800 via official Apple FW to thunderbolt adapter - won't work. Tried everything i can think of, had Apple on the case; they simply gave up and said it's a compatibility issue. I have access to 3 machines, and here are my findings:

FF800 > firewire port > iMac mid 2011 - works 100%
FF800 > fw--thunderbolt adapter > thunderbolt port > iMac mid 2011 - works 100%
FF800 > fw--thunderbolt adapter > thunderbolt port > MacBook Pro early 2015 - works 100%
FF800 > fw--thunderbolt adapter > thunderbolt port > MacBook Pro mid 2014 - HOST light red

The ONLY variable i can find is the thunderbolt port on the 2014 machine has a lower firmware version. I don't even know if this is revenant - apple said not, and that it can't be updated anyway.

Any help much appreciated!

Andy
