Topic: Fireface UC driver update and flash update no working WDM driver

Hi dear community,

I have a strange problem.
I am on Win7 64bit

I updated the driver from 1099 to latest 1114
Then I flashed to 123

Now I have no system sound anymore.
My main RME Out 1/2 is greyed out. So I have no audio on youtube, media player or any other programm.
yes it is set to 7/8. But I don't hear anything.

Exception are:

Cubase, Izotope RX which support ASIO drivers I suppose.
So at least I can finish my work, but cannot do any quick check in VLC player or similar.
Or I cannot do any monitored sessions through chrome browser like SessionLinkPro, IPDTL or similar.

Anyone an idea ?

Also Sonarworks Driver SystemWide does not work.

Before flashing everything was fine.

I went back to 1099 and flash to previous 118, but no chance to set RME as Default audio device.
It stays greyed out.

Please check the number of active WDM devices in the Settings Dialog.

Hi Daniel,

there are 9 drivers.

What exactly do you mean by "greyed out"? The screenshot doesn't show anything in that regard, does it?!

Can you play the "Test" sound (right-click menu)?

@timur born

Hi,

Just to show you the difference:

If you have a selectable device in the sound settings,  there will be a sort of peak meter next to them. Look at this pic:

But if not, no device will be selectable and there is no peak meter either.
So I may used the wrong terminology saying the device is "greyed" out.  ;-)

However it seems to be something much deeper in ther system. So I will have to do an inplace upgrade or complete reinstall.
Thanks also to RME support Daniel Fuchs who just take the time to examine the issues.
