Topic: Digiface Dante questions

Hi,
2 questions regarding the new device.

1. Does Digiface can be the master clock of the Dante based system?
2. Is it possible to route channels between MADI and Dante and vice versa without restrictions? Will there be a dedicated software or Totalmix?

Speculation mode on:

to 1) would guess yes, why not ?

to 2 The product page tells,

a) TotalMix FX without FX section/effects. So yes it will be TM.

b) if the interface is not connected via USB (standalone), then the interface becomes automatically to a 64 channel Dante<->MADI converter. From that you can deduce that the routing between Dante and MADI is part of the interfaces design.

For this reason I pretty much assume that you can use TM FX to route between MADI and Dante.
And tbh ... Routing happens inside the routing matrix internally .. whether the audio streams come from analog, digital (ADAT, SPDIF, MADI, "whatever") doesnt matter much inside of the routing matrix.
