Topic: 9632 as AD/DC for HDSPE AES

Hello

Please bere with a potentially daft question here, an AES newbie here

Looking to plug the in and out AES XLR's from the BO968 cable of the 9632 into two XLR's of a breakout cable in the HDSPE AES

My questions are:

1) Can I route analog i/o of the 9632 into its AES i/o channels ?
2) Would I need the Word Clock Module (WCM) addon for the 9632 ?
3) Any remote chance I could integrate the 9632 and HDSP AES in th same PC ?

Thanks in advance

Re: 9632 as AD/DC for HDSPE AES

1 You can route the digital in and out of the hdsp9632 into the AES, so you need to route the analogue ins and outs to that output. You need the balanced digital cable for the 9632 to get AES (don't know if spdif will work)
2 No not needed,  the clock is in the AES signal
3 Yes if you have PCI and PCIe slot available.

But since they work under one driver, why route at all. So what do you need want to do?

Re: 9632 as AD/DC for HDSPE AES

Basically can't afford an ADI-8 DS Mk III at the moment, so am looking for the cheapest way of getting AD/DC capability for the HDSPE AES.

My old DAW Pc has a 9632 in it; getting a RME BO-968 cable for it and a Alva AES25-4F4MPro1 cable for the HDSPE AES in the new DAW PC would seem a cheap option

My new DAW PC does have a PCI slot, but I'd always planned on hooking my old 32bit DAW to my new 64bit DAW
