Topic: Onkyo TX-8270

I bought Onkyo TX-8270, its internal DAC (AK4438 DAC) is not good even:

The TX-8270’s class-AB amplifier puts out 100Wpc into 8 ohms (20Hz-20kHz), and its AK4438 DAC supports up to 24-bit/192kHz PCM and FLAC, along with ALAC, WMA Lossless, and DSD 2.8 and 5.6MHz. It also features Onkyo’s Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry (VLSC), claimed to filter the audio output to “remove pulse noise generated in D/A conversion” and “reassemble the audio signal to its original form following processing.”

I think about buying your ADI-2 DAC.

What output XLR/RCA of DAC should I use for my Onkyo analog in (there is rca/cinch)?

Re: Onkyo TX-8270

Cinch of course. Using an XLR plug (for balanced operation) makes no sense, as your amp appearently does not support it.

What is the background of your question ? Whether its supported by Windows 10 ? Yes sure.
See driver download page (USB -> Driver for Windows (XP SP2, Windows 7/8/10))

What is the background of my question?
Windows 10 is Windows 10 == big problems, drivers specialy!
I'm quite satisfied owner old sound card ASUS ROG Xonar Phoebus - https://www.vortez.net/articles_pages/a … ew,6.html..

Re: Onkyo TX-8270

I bought ASUS Xonar Essence STX II - https://www.vortez.net/articles_pages/a … iew,6.html 5 months ago, I was very disappointed.
My decision is I finnish to use PCIex sound cards and I'm finding good USB DAC upto 1000 euro with bass/treble corrections, not only hard switchable filters.
I want to be shure for the good buy.

Re: Onkyo TX-8270

Sure, go ahead, its an excellent product. It works for me very nicely in front of an Accuphase E-600 / B&W 803D3 combination.
Sound resolution of "stage" even slightly better than Accuphase's own DAC-40 module for this amp.
