Topic: ADI-2 FS vs. ADI-2 Pro FS/ADI-2 DAC

Dear RME team,

I'm considering to buy a new ADDA converter for me home hifi equipment.

I have read many very positive reviews about the sound qualitiy of the ADI-2 Pro FS and the ADI-2 DAC, which seems to be really outstanding and also a huge improvement compared to older RME converters.

I have no need for USB, DSP, volume control and sample rates higher then 192kHz (doing my DSP in the source PC and using a DANTE AES interface).

So I wonder, if i will get the identical sound quality with the ADI-2 FS.

What I read in the product description (same analog circuits, Steadyclock FS, same converter type) suggests, that it will, but I would really appreciate your statement.

Thanks in advance
Matthias

Re: ADI-2 FS vs. ADI-2 Pro FS/ADI-2 DAC

The ADI-2 FS is indeed very close to the Pro/DAC, but just without USB and all the DSP bells and whistles. It is thought as more affordable unit, but also to extend a Pro with analog I/Os on a similar quality level.
