Topic: Fireface 800 Nosie
Hi all,
Recently we noticed one of our rooms started making a low level noise, almost like some kind of RF interference type of noise. We have been trying everything to get rid of it and no matter what we seem to do it is always present.
We've tried replacing the fireface with another that was not giving us this issue, we've replaced the firewire card in the computer, bought new cables that're supposed to shield against exactly this, different power cables, different speaker cables, and pretty much everything else we could think of.
Has anyone else had any issues like this over the years? Doesn't necessarily need to be RME specific as we've tried with other firefaces that were not having this issue and there was still a hiss/glitchy sound.
It seems to get the loudest when files are transferring from one place to another.
Is there anyone that has had something similar to them happen? Or does anyone have any ideas on what could be the underlying issue?
Specs are:
Intel i7 3.4
Gigabyte z68x-ud7-b3
16gb ram
Windows 7 64 bit.
Thanks,
Josh
