Topic: RME UCX usb cracks/pops

I just bought a RME UCX. Plugged with USB.

I run Cubase 7 on Windows 10
i7 260ghz
8gb ram

With only ONE track with ampsim I get lots of cracks and pops at anything below 256 samples buffer.
And at that point, I could as well just use my old Tascam US1641 because I have no pops/cracks with that one.

I have the "latest driver" from RME site.

What am I supposed to do? I have already packed the interface back into the box and am ready to ship it back to the store and get a refund because it feels like I wasted my money...

HELP! Before I send the interface back!

Hi,
I remember running Windows and finding the audio drivers very temperamental.

I used to switch between the two quite regularly. For no apparent reason one would be better that the other and vice versa.

This kind of thing usually boils down to PC performance issues of some kind, the driver or hardware are not involved in plugin rendering or the like. Have you tried all available USB ports?
