Re: FF400, Macbook Pro, Bootcamp - weird buzzing noises

Abschalten wirkt echt Wunder! wink

Re: FF400, Macbook Pro, Bootcamp - weird buzzing noises

I also had the Firewire error "The device is on a bus that cannot support this transfer rate." The solution that worked for me relates to the well-known problem mentioned above and explained here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/885222

However, I had to use the registry fix described in the page above - the downloadable .exe fix didn't work because I have SP3 installed and the .exe tells me I don't need the fix (which is patently false.)

I'm running Cubase 5.1 on XP SP3 in Boot Camp.

Re: FF400, Macbook Pro, Bootcamp - weird buzzing noises

Note sure if this has been mentioned here yet, but:

FF400 + iMac + Bootcamp + Windows 7 (!!) works just fine!

no crackles, no pops, no nothing.
(24' Alu iMac running OSX10.6 and the included new Bootcamp running Windows 7)

Re: FF400, Macbook Pro, Bootcamp - weird buzzing noises

Hi everyone here's a gem for you all,

I basically don't use Bootcamp, or Parallels Desktop to run my Windows apps. I use Codeweavers Crossover for Mac:

http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cxmac/

You don't need to re-boot and you don't need a Windows license. It just runs Windows apps like they were on the Mac. Got this lead from Earle Holder over at http://www.har-bal.com. and he also has a great audio program you might wanna' check out. Just thought this might help some of you out.

Blessings,

Beatmaker E.I.
