Topic: RME RPM on Ubuntu 9.04

Hi,

i'm trying to use my RME RPM on Ubuntu 9.04 but can't get it working.
Ubuntu 9.04 use Alsa 1.0.18 ; i installed RME required package (alsa-tools-gui and alsa-firmware-loaders).
Then i compile latest (1.0.20) alsa-driver sources successfully to workaround an issue about firmware not present.
hdsploader loads the firmware but identified my RPM sound card as Multiface (hdspmixer and hdspconf load with multiface channels config)... so i can't access to channels (ie. no access to any channel using hw1:0).
I tried to compile 1.0.18 drivers, but i get the same issue.
I also found a RPM firmware here : http://wiki.linuxproaudio.org/index.php/Firmware:RPM and place it as recommended (and even to compiled and ubuntu folders for other RME firmwares).
... same issue!

Does someone manage to use this great sound card on Ubuntu/Debian with Alsa 1.0.18?

I'd like to use it with XWAX project.

regards,

alcor

Re: RME RPM on Ubuntu 9.04

Hello,

I can't get it working myself either. I found the patches at Linux Pro Audio but failed to compile hdspmixer on my Ubuntu 10.4 box. I would be happy to read about any happy RPM user running Linux. Whatever distro. Thanks !

Re: RME RPM on Ubuntu 9.04

Hi,

I'm also trying to have my RPM working on Ubuntu.

Has someone see this information?

Tell me if it works. I'm not so good at Linux.

Thanks
